The Neurobiology of Diseases in Children (NDC) Conference is an annual symposium organized by the Child Neurology Society as part of its annual meeting. For nearly two decades, the NDC has been a forum focused on spreading the most up-to-date information on the clinical aspects, pathogenesis, therapeutic targets, etc. for a given neurological disorder affecting children. The NDC conference attracts roughly 400 – 500 child neurologists and other professionals from all over the United States and beyond.
This year, on October 4th, 2017, the NDC conference agenda is dedicated entirely to the leukodystrophies. The World Leukodystrophy Alliance and the Leukodystrophy Care Network are co-sponsoring the “Young Investigators Program” which assists neurologists with expenses associated with traveling to the conference. The conference and annual meeting will be held at the Sheraton Crown Center in Kansas City, MO from October 4th to October 7th, 2017.
The Sheraton Crown Center is located below Children’s Mercy Hospital and adjacent to Hallmark’s corporate headquarters, with its family-friendly cluster of entertainment (LegoLand and Sea World), restaurants and shops. The outstanding World War I Museum and the beautifully restored Union Depot are 5 minutes away by foot, and the renowned Power and Light District’s shops, restaurants and clubs are a mere 5 minutes away via free shuttle bus service. The Nelson-Adkins Museum of Art, the American Jazz Museum, and the Negro Baseball League Hall of Fame Museum are all “Uber-easy” to get to in 15 minutes.
