The Annual Trap Shoot Fundraiser is hosted by Myelin Project board member and ALD mother Diane Love and Bill Zmrzel at the Coon Creek Trap & Skeet Club in Sacramento County, California. Funds raised from the event go toward The Myelin Project Research Fund.
Diane Love has been a board member of The Myelin Project for nearly 10 years. Her son, Wyatt, was diagnosed with adrenoleukodystrophy as a child and has been fundraising for research ever since. Wyatt’s father Bill handles logistics for the event and friends, family, and employees volunteer their time to help run it. Bill’s company BZ Plumbing Co., Inc. is also a three-time Gold Sponsor.
The day-long fundraiser consists of a raffle and trap shooting competition with approximately 20 different teams of five shooters each. Individual tickets to the event are $125 each, (or $625 per team) which includes free ammunition, targets, lunch, drinks, and game prizes. NOTE: Shotguns are NOT provided, therefore you must bring your own.
