Dr. Keith Van Haren

Dr. Van Haren is an ALD specialist at Stanford University’s Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in the Department of Child Neurology. He studied at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, did his post-doc at Stanford, and completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. Keith was instrumental in getting ALD newborn screening legislation passed in California, as he provided the clinical perspective of the health and cost benefits associated with ALD newborn screening. Keith is a founding member of ALD Connect and now serves as The Myelin Project’s Clinical Adviser to review clinical research proposals in order to determine their efficacy.
